    DeVry Medical International to close Grand Bahama based M.E.R.P. Program - Aug 23, 2013 - 2:44:26 PM 
  NORTH BRUNSWICK, NJ – 
DeVry Medical International (DMI), a subsidiary of DeVry Inc., (NYSE: 
DV), announced today that it plans to relocate the Medical Education 
Review Program (MERP) from its current location in Freeport, Grand 
Bahamas, to South Florida. Officials from DMI met with government 
officials in the Bahamas to inform them of the plan and to voice 
appreciation for their support during the program’s three years in the 
Bahamas. 
 DMI plans to relocate the program at the end of November...

	Minister for Grand 
Bahama, the Hon. Dr. Michael Darville on November 29 met with senior 
executives of DeVry International, the medical group that has taken 
over operations of Ross University on Grand Bahama. The Minister discussed 
expansion of the programme on Grand Bahama, immigration and other matters 
of interest.

recently made a donation to support the Grand Bahama Performing Arts 
Society. MERP students frequently attend the arts society’s events as

Freeport, Bahamas - Grand Bahama landlords attended a meeting at DeVry 
Medical International’s Medical Education Review Program (MERP) to 
discuss the institution’s housing process, student expectations and 
recent website upgrades. 
	
	
	
	
	Antoine Brooks, housing coordinator, 
shared vital information with the landlords and gathered their feedback. 
The information sharing is expected to enable landlords and students 
to have a positive rental experience.  
 “The mutually beneficial relationship that has been developed with 
landlords has been tremendously valuable to the overall experience of 
our students,” said Brooks. “The continuous hospitality given to 
our students speaks volumes of our community.”

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island - Students 
of the Medical Education Review Program (MERP) had the opportunity to 
unwind and enjoy a relaxing dinner and bonfire on Taino Beach at Junkanoo 
Beach Club recently, all organized for them by the Student Services 
department. They dined on traditional Bahamian cuisine and listened 
to island music while gazing at the sunset. Later in the evening students 
gathered around a bonfire and had the opportunity to reflect on their 
first few weeks on the island.

of many held to assist the students in enjoying island life and to emphasize

recently donated canned and dry food goods to the Grand Bahama Red Cross. 
 The name of the program, “YES WE CAN,”  is MERP students’ response to 
the question, “Can we help reduce hunger in The Bahamas?” At the end of 
their rigorous 15-week medical preparatory program, MERP students find 
they have a food surplus as they are preparing to leave the island...

(MERP) was pleased to sponsor the 25th Annual Conchman Triathlon and 
support fitness, wellness and healthy lifestyle

	“We had 14 members 
of the MERP community participate in this year’s triathlon and everyone 
had a great time,” said Jon Holmsten, a licensed professional counselor 
at MERP. “The weather was beautiful on the
 island and the community was great in Freeport...”
